UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Shabazyan Parlay

Shawn Craymen

Another weekend, another night of fights for the UFC. The card isn’t crazy stacked and I only like to share my surefire picks so without further ado here’s my picks

1.Bobby Green def. Lando Vannata

Both of these fighters have had tumultuous careers to say the least. What should be an easy match on paper will play out very differently I feel. Lando burst onto the scene almost finishing legend Tony Ferguson and knocked out John Makdessi with fluid striking and creativity. Looking to be the future of the lightweight division, Lando proceeded to get his ass handed to him against David Teymur and almost everyone afterwards. Sometimes he looks like he’s amongst the best in the world and sometimes he looks like he’ll never be ranked. These two fought a year ago to a draw and it was only a draw because Lando was deducted a point so assuming Lando doesn’t get another point deduction he’ll get a nice UD win right? I’m feeling otherwise. Despite me always showing love for a fellow New Jerseyan, Lando has been a model of inconsistency while Bobby Green has actually looked very good in his return from “retirement”. While I’m a fan of Lando I can never bet in his favor when he’s supposed to win, I feel super confident in Green’s ability to perform to his level and Lando’s ability to underperform.

Green - +150

2. Vincente Luque def. Randy Brown

I mean, God, what an easy match up. Randy is good and he beat the crap out of Mickey Gall which you love to see. Despite this we’re going to see Luque KO him, feeling 2nd or 3rd round. I mean he does this. EZ MONEY!

Luque - -210

3. Derek Brunson def. Edmen Shabazyan

Wow Edmen -360? Looks like everyone has this fight figured out. Yeah, no shot. Edmen looked impressive in his demolition of the tough as nails Brad Tavares and Brunson has a reputation of running into his opponents hands down and chin up but that really isn’t true. Since he lost to division champ Adesanya we’ve seen a much more measured and calculated Brunson. The narrative with Brunson gets twisted, I’m not saying he’ll be champ but I’m saying someone who’s only lost to Adesanya, Anderson Silva, Jacare Souza, Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero; literally only lost to legends, should get a little more respect. He’s an experienced vet and has very heavy hands. Edmen has a bright future but it’s too much for the 22 year old Armenian at this point in his career. Slap Brunson for +300 and there’s gas money for the next month.

Brunson - +300
