UFC 255 Picks and Predictions

UFC 255 Picks, Predictions, and Betting Lines

Shawn Craymen

After some less than ideal cards the UFC gives us an ESPN+ card with two whole title fights. There's some fun to be had here and money to be made. Here's the picks I'm going with this weekend.

Katlyn Chookagian vs Cynthia Calvillo

Fresh off a TKO loss, Katlyn Chookagian is going up against a red hot Cynthia Calvillo who has been undefeated in her last four fights. I think Katlyn is the superior fighter but two weight cuts in a month combined with the damage she took just a few weeks makes me feel unwell for her safety. Expect Calvillo to win clean

Calvillo: -195

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Alex Perez

Deiveson’s first title defense comes up against Alex Perez. Perez’s most recent win comes against Jussier Formiga who is Figueiredo’s lone loss in the UFC. Does this mean Perez has something over Fig? No, it’s just an interesting fact. Fig is going to win this convincingly. Feel safe throwing this in your parlay.

Figueiredo: -350

Valentina Shevchenko vs Jennifer Maia

There’s two big questions going into this fight: will Jennifer Maia actually show up and how long will she last? Since Shevchenko moved down to flyweight she’s been about as dominant of a champ as we’ve seen. It doesn’t really need much explaining why she’ll win as it’s well established she’s in the conversation for greatest women’s Mixed Martial Artists we’ve seen. Choosing Shev to win straight up at -2000 is pretty unappealing however betting on her to get the finish at -200? Much better, that’s what I’m taking for this fight.

Shevchenko: -2000, -200 by finish
