This is that time of year for the UFC. In farming, stocks (shoutout to Mr. Morningstar) and the UFC there is a slow time of the year. In addition to being a thin card, there really aren't too many picks that jump out at me. I do have a couple that I'm parlaying to cover my beer and pizza this weekend.
Eryk Anders vs. Antonio Arroyo
Anders has had an up and down UFC career up until this point. He has a strong athletic background and is a physical specimen. Despite the fact he has very little skill and next to no cardio, I don’t think I’ve seen him throw a clean jab or have a decent set up for a strike. I think he wins this though, sometimes raw power comes out on top and Antonio Arroyo doesn’t really pose any threats that Anders can’t overcome.
Paul Felder vs. Rafael Dos Anjos
RDA’s had a long, winding path to getting this fight done. What was first supposed to be a fight against Islam Makhachev in October got cancelled and moved to this Saturday. Makhachev dropped out earlier this week and now Dos Anjos is going up against Paul Felder on five days notice. People love to say RDA is shot, but he’s really only gone up against killers. I think he beats Felder convincingly. He only has five days to prepare and is already muling retirement from the sport, two things that normally work against a fighter’s favor. Feel very safe in betting for RDA.
Dos Anjos: -190
