An incredible story here about how advice from a Giants trainer possibly saved Logan Ryan's wife.
Ryan explains the story of how his wife flew down to Florida to vote. She was experiencing stomach pains late at night, which she thought she could sleep off. Ryan explained the situation to Giants' trainer, Justin Maher, who urged her to go to the emergency room. After spending the night at the ER, she had to get emergency surgery because of an ectopic pregnancy.
I'm no medical expert, but I am a Google doctor. According to WebMD, Google, and the rest of the internet, an ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg leaves the uterus. If left untreated, it can cause a crazy amount of internal bleeding and severe damage to internal organs. There's your lesson on the female reproductive system for the day.
Luckily, his wife is doing well. Crazy how one simple piece of advice from someone on the training staff was able to save someone's life. If I were the trainer, I'd tell Ryan to relax and have her take a few Tums. Luckily for him, I'm just some dude that sits behind a keyboard.
The Giants may be 1-7, but at least their organization is out here saving lives. Not bad considering their neighbors down the road seem to be operating like a low-level D-3 program. A cool story I thought should be shared during the madness we call the Presidential election.
