Celebrities and liquor endorsements go together like coffee and sunrise. From the beginning, anyone with decently big star power would attach their name to a liquor brand. There’s the big ones: Diddy and Ciroc, Clooney and Casamigos, Conor McGregor and Proper Twelve, Wu Tang Clan and St. Ide’s, the list goes on. Recently, Kendall Jenner announced her own new tequila: 818. Tequila has been a hot commodity lately with Lebron James’s Los Lobos and The Rock’s Teremana coming out in recent times. So what is special about Kendall’s tequila? Let’s see what she says.
for almost 4 years i’ve been on a journey to create the best tasting tequila. after dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING
She shared photos of her and her friends enjoying tequila, some fancy pictures of the bottle, and a description of it that says it got 96 points in the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Do I know what any of this means? No. Am I excited? Yes. I’m sure Kendall isn’t a master Jimador and that'll cause people to say she's appropriating culture or she has to have more experience to release one but I can imagine she has decent enough taste and good people around her that she could make a solid tequila. I've tried more or less every celebrity liquor there is and the only one that was legitimately not good was Roc a Fella's Armadale and I don't believe Kendall would attach her name to that abomination. I’ll definitely be trying some once it’s available. Check out her Instagram post unveiling it below and let us know you think!
