After knocking out Nate Robinson and turning him into a meme, Jake Paul found his next challenger.
Ben Askren is a former professional MMA fighter and amateur wrestler. Although he's accomplished a lot in his career, he's most known to be on the receiving end of one of the most vicious knockouts ever.
I know very little about the fight game. I watch the big Pay-Per-View's, but I'm not one of those guys who cares about techniques. All I care about are slugfests and personalities that hype up the fight.
Obviously, Jake Paul is a polarizing figure. Whether it's his social media presence or his cockiness, he definitely gives people reasons to hate him. At the end of the day, he does one thing really well. It's promoting fights like McGregor and Mayweather. If Paul's name is attached to a fight, he's going to put asses in the seats.
It'll be interesting to see how Paul does against a professional fighter. Asking some of my friends who are into the fight game, they say Askren is pretty terrible at boxing. If Askren is more of a grappler, I think it gives Paul an edge. Throw in the height difference and I think Paul has a chance to beat Askren. If Askren loses to Paul, he might need to move to a secluded ranch where there's no internet. If he loses to a social media personality after an embarrassing knock out by Masvidal, there's no coming back from that.
