If You Love Weiners, Your Dream Job Is Now Hiring

It's 27 feet long, measured from the base, not the shaft

Eddie

Oscar Mayer is a processed meat firm that is known all over the nation. If you still remember the Oscar Mayer B-O-L-O-G-N-A jingle, you're either old or someone old in your life forced this song upon you. As for everyone else, they are the meat products with the yellow and red logo. If that isn't ringing any bells, they are also the meat company that drives a giant wiener vehicle around the nation. For some reason I assumed these obscure marketing vehicles were all out of commission and strictly used by people who purchased the used vehicles. It turns out it's a legitimate job to operate them.

Right now Oscar Mayer is hiring people to drive its giant meaty wiener around the nation on a one year contract. While I couldn’t find the pay and benefits, one has to assume you're getting free hot dogs for an entire year. The job consists of traveling between photo-ops and events all over the country from June 2021 to June 2022. The job requires two weeks of training, which I assume will consist of hot dog cooking lessons, learning how to drive a 27 foot long red wiener, and instruction on how to run the vehicle's social media accounts.

All in all, this doesn't seem like a bad deal. You get paid to go on a year long vacation with other people your age while working a low stress job. All I wish is I had found this job listing earlier in life, because I definitely would have slid inside the glizzy mobile. So if you're looking to have probably the most memorable year of your life, go to Oscar Mayer's website and fill out an application. Despite the absurdity of the role, I have a feeling it's actually a pretty competitive position.
