Greatest Crossover in History Confirmed

I wrote about the new Spiderman movie earlier in the year, however, more news has broken about the film. Initial reports showed Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning to create a Spidery-verse of sorts, which I’m all for. New reports show that Kristen Dunst, Doc Ock, and Charlie Cox as Daredevil have also signed on for the movie. While I should be dancing in the streets over this, I am warier now than I was initially.

First of all, Doc Ock is dead, how on earth will he return? Even if it’s a flashback, he is 20 years older and I’m not sure I want his legacy tarnished for a quick fan service-fueled scene. Perhaps they go to a universe where Peter is able to save Doc Ock from himself? I have no idea at this point. I’m all for a Kristen Dunst return, she will always be Spidey’s girl in my eyes. While I am excited to see the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, I have no idea how he fits in this film.

At this point, I’m just worried that all these actors are signing on for cheap cameos to sell box office tickets. I’ve had movies play with my heart before, and considering this is a Disney production, I know they will do anything to make a buck. (Glares at Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)

The best-case scenario is they use all these cameos to set up future films where we get to see old stars shine once again. Worst case scenario I spend $15 to watch another garbage Tom Holland Spiderman flick with three scenes of fan pandering. Either way, this movie is still a must-watch, and I’m hoping for an instant classic.
