Dame Time seems to be over in Portland

How much would it take to pry Dame Lillard out of Portland?

Stephen A. Bayless

When you're a disgruntled star in the NBA, what's the best possible way to get out of your situation? Tell an NBA insider you're unhappy and watch the NBA world catch on fire.

We all knew this was going to happen. After years of carrying Portland on his back, it seems like Dame finally wants out. I think every NBA fan wants to see if Dame can win somewhere else. Everyone except for Portland fans of course. As a player, you sometimes have to realize that winning in your current situation is never going to happen. That's the reality of today's NBA.

Part of the report says that Dame has been attacked by fans for supporting the hire of Chauncey Billups as the new head coach. Even though Lillard had no say in the process.

To be honest, I didn't know Billups had a rape accusation against him in the '90s. That was certainly swept under the rug during his playing days. Billups just agreed to a five-year deal to become the next head coach of the Blazers.

Now that Lillard could be on the move, it's time for every fanbase to speculate where he's going to be traded. Of course, you have Lakers fans who automatically think he's going to join LeBron and AD.

This made me laugh. They really think they can get Dame Lillard for three average players and two firsts. Living in LA really makes people think they live in a scripted fantasy land.

Ok, this makes a little more sense. Especially with what happened with Ben Simmons this postseason. Although Simmons looked awful this playoff, I think you can still make a good offer for Dame with Simmons being the centerpiece of the trade. I have no idea what their draft pick situation is. I feel like the Sixers trade a first every year for a mediocre role player.

You can always trust delusional Knicks fans into thinking they can get any player in the world.

Maybe Dame made up his mind and already knows where he wants to end up? Imagine a pairing of Luka and Dame? Lordyyyyy.

With the Olympics right around the corner, people on the USA basketball team are sure going to butter him up like a nice fat roll on Thanksgiving. The Olympics are pretty much a month-long tampering camp for NBA players.

RIP to another small market losing one of the biggest stars in the league.
