Will Smith and Morgan Cooper team up for yet another lazy reboot idea

Big Tasty

This may come as a surprise to about no one, but yet another reboot is on its way. Around one year ago producer Morgan Cooper made a fan film that reimagined The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as a modern-day drama. I watched the video and it's incredibly well made. The shedding of the 90s sitcom flair works for the modern audience. All of this said, I am vehemently against all lazy reboots and will roast this show unless it proves to me it has stand-alone worth.

I wish I had bet money on Will Smith crawling back to The Fresh Prince. The show catapulted him to fame and is one of the few projects he's worked on that isn't absolute dog shit. I understand that Will is one of the most recognizable and wealthy men in the world. I understand some of you are probably getting triggered and beginning to see red. What I ask of you is to think rationally. I can count on one hand the number of movies/shows he has put out that are genuinely good. Other than that his movies are flops; they make any money whatsoever simply because his name is on the poster.

It also surprises me that he brought Jadda in on this reboot. Guess he didn't trust her alone at the house while he's working his ass off. I’m sure she won’t fuck this show up too hard. Are cheating jokes funny or just sad? Regardless this “news” isn't exactly breaking or exciting. “Rich man jumps on an opportunity to stay relevant and make more money.” It's a tale as old as time. Nostalgia outsells creativity ten out of ten times and I'm sure the show will be a hit. However, that doesn't change the fact it's a cheap attempt to recapture his prime.
