2K21 Looks Like a Toddler Made It

This may come as a surprise to no one, but the new 2K already sucks.

Eddie

Another year, another lineup of sports video games indistinguishable from their predecessors yet listed at full price. With the release of next-gen consoles, 2K and Take-Two will be quick to capitalize and pump out the same game with “updated graphics” to make a quick buck. 2K has been proudly displaying their new game’s graphics, which they apparently thought were groundbreaking. I haven’t touched that pathetic excuse of a franchise in years, however, with the new consoles I figured I should at least give the press releases a look. I crave a good basketball video game, so I went in hoping to see some drastic improvements. To no surprise, the game looks like hot garbage with a side of ebola. The pictures speak for themselves.

Is it just me or did the graphics actually get worse? The gameplay has been declining for years so it’s clear 2K is skilled in regression. With most of the emphasis going into in-game micro-transactions, I guess there was no time left to actually update the graphics, gameplay, animations, or anything that makes a video game enjoyable. When I saw the image of Luka I nearly choked to death on a sip of water. This looks like a kindergartener who tried to draw his father with crayons. It’s so bad it borders comedy.

Another year of passing up on 2K. I cannot believe the current state of sports games. They must be making millions if the developers have zero incentive to change their ways. Every night I kneel beside my bed and pray that a decent Madden or 2k comes out, and every night my prayers go unanswered. There’s nothing I want more in this world than to play as my favorite athletes, but I can't justify purchasing this pitiful excuse of a game.
