Victor Oladipo Asked Other Teams "Can I Come Play With Y'all?"

Oladipo's time in Indiana is ticking.

Stephen A. Bayless

NBA Twitter was on fire last night. We got news that Russell Westbrook wanted out of Houston.

With a bunch of other trade rumors that swirled around Twitter, it was typical NBA speculation bullshit.

Thinking the storm settled this morning, I got this update on my phone:

Going the OBJ route I see. Remember the rumors he told Steelers players to "come get him"? It's been known Oladipo has wanted out of Indiana for a few months now. Interesting, considering it seemed like everything was going well before his injury.

I understand going up to Heat and Raptors players to come to get him, but the Knicks? In this stage of Oladipo's career, doesn't he want to compete for a championship? We all know Oladipo isn't good enough to carry a putrid Knicks team past 35 wins.

For the Knicks, this seems like another washed player to mortgage your future around. We've seen it time and time again with this franchise. It's either him or Westbrook, who seems to not get along with anyone he plays with. Perfect for the Knicks young core!

If Oladipo is talking to players about wanting out, he's in for a rude awakening if he leaves for a lesser franchise. Although Indiana is going through a rebrand after firing Nate McMillan, they still have a team that's going to make the playoffs. As the old saying goes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
